World Market Leader: Gehring top-address in the industry
The trade and industry publication German Standards World Market Leader has rated Gehring GmbH & Co. KG as a top level enterprise. Here again the success story of company Gehring was publicly rewarded. This medium sized enterprise from Ostfildern which is close to Stuttgart produces honing machines for engine treatment and is the world market leader in this industry.
German Standards World Market Leader is a publication by the renowned economic publishing house German Standards Editions and is being published by the entrepreneur and publicist Dr. Florian Langenscheidt. This encyclopaedia of 600 pages the best companies of the German economy and their highlights.

We are naturally very glad about this nomination and also very proud about it, says Dorothee Stein-Gehring, Managing Director of Gehring. We understand this nomination as a recognition of our successful work and at the same time as an incentive to continue and to maintain the innovative standard of our trade, complemented the Manager, Gerhard Simon.

For 80 years now company Gehring GmbH can look back on to constant success and secure growth. The honing machines of the company are being used worldwide primarily to produce automobile engines. The treatment through honing reduces the friction between the piston and the cylinder and therefore abrasion and consumption is significantly reduced. The latest innovation, the so-called laser honing, makes it possible to achieve further reduction in fuel emissions. In this case a laser beam shapes the cylinder wall and produces exact defined oil chambers with the highest precision. This reduces frictional losses as well as intrusion of motor oil into the combustion chamber.

The integration of company Gehring GmbH into German Standards World Market Leader is by far not the first and only economic recommendation. Already in 2002 and 2004 Gehring conquered a place amongst the TOP 100 enterprises from the OLD and NEW Economy. The TOP 100 represent the Who is Who of the most innovative small and medium sized businesses in Germany, who think and work after new patterns which are determined by Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Warnecke, President of the Frauenhofer Society, Munich.
